End-grain cutting boards are beautiful, durable, and functional. This is your chance to learn how to design and make your own!
To complete this class plan to attend all three days listed below.
In this hands-on class you will learn how to make an end-grain cutting board from start to finish. All materials will be provided for you to make a beautiful end-grain cutting board to take home with you.
Day 1 - Friday, Jan 29 (7-9 pm) You’ll see the process step-by-step to prepare raw boards of wood and to get the cuts you need for a cutting board of various dimensions. You’ll see the jointer, plainer, and table saw in action. You will design your board with a variety of woods provided and do your first glue up.
Day 2 - Sunday, Jan 31 (9-11 am) You will prepare your board to be cut, observe the table saw, and will do your second glue up.
Day 3 - Monday, Feb 1 (6-9 pm) You will clean up your board and use the drum sander to smooth it. We will use the router to create the edge you want and then you will apply the finish.
