SO: Kinetinauts Assemble! - Kinetic Sculpture Race

On May 1st at 11am the American Visionary Art Musem (avam.org) is live-streaming the 2021 Baltimore Kinetic Sculpture Race in small scale. The Nova Labs build team will be meeting at Nova Labs to watch the live-stream and grill up some hotdogs. For over 20 years the American Visionary Art Museum has bequeathed the Baltimore Kinetic Sculpture Race onto the eager denizens of that extremely hilly city. Traditionally, in that race human-powered amphibious all-terrain vehicles fly through the city of Baltimore and swim through the harbor for the sole purpose of art and inspiration.

The race is held the first Saturday of May, including this year! What's new this year is that the race is running at 1/12 scale, nice and small, but more importantly it will be live streamed so that everyone can watch. There are approximately 30 vehicles entered; so it is unclear how long each vehicle will take to run the course, but most likely the race to last most of the afternoon. 

Chef Paul Chase will bring in a tiny grill, hotdogs and condiments. BYOB (No alcohol!); if you'd like to bring something to share please pop into the #kinetic-sculpture slack channel to help plan! If you can attend, do not feel obliged to remain for the entire event -Stay and watch (and eat hot dogs) for as long as you would like. But you will need to make a reservation before you attend.
