3D_P:3D Printing Skillbuilder: Printing Lithophanes

Looking for a great a great thing to do on Friday night? Come learn how to turn your favorite pictures into a 3d printed lithophone. Google to see some great examples of this type of art. Very easy to do once you know how. Let our experienced 3d printer expert show you how while you soak up the creative amosphere in our makerspace. This is a great couples or teen class.

This class will guide you to creating and printing your own small lithophane: printing pictures with your 3D Printer. Students should bring their own laptop in order to create the model, and have a photograph (or a few!) ready to be litho'd.

We will be using https://itslitho.com/ for the model preparation - no CAD. The class is intended to get users more familiar with the 3D Printing toolchain at Nova Labs while providing a nice keepsake.Nova Labs will provide the filament, a tealight and a lithophane stand. At the end of the class, users will start prints on the Nova Labs machines and have to pick them up later - we'll be using the FDM printers, so each litho will take 2-4 hours to print.
