This class will introduce students to LEDs, how they work, differentkinds available and how to light them.TinkerCAD will be briefly introduced and where functionally supported,TinkerCAD examples will be used to illustrate how LEDs are used incircuits and how to control their illumination using Arduino UNO.
The class will introduce a single color and RGB discrete LEDs, LEDstrips and NEOPIXELS.
PrerequisitesSome exposure to electricity and simple programming would be useful.
Preparation/ToolsYou will need to sign up for a free account at TinkerCAD before class.• TinkerCAD is a web-based simulator, you do not have to downloadanything. You do have to make an account with a login. After you arelogged in, the circuits simulation selection is below the 3D CAD onthe start page• Register for an account: Go to web page www.tinkercad.com• Log into TinkerCAD; it will help if you have also accessed TinkerCADCircuits (below the “3D Designs” option) and looked at the interfacebefore class.
