Description: The shave-horse is a traditional workshop fixture to hold materials for hand-working. It’s a combination worktable, vise and chair. It’s particularly useful when working with a drawknife to make chair parts or hook knives to carve spoons. During the class, students will build their very own hybrid shave horse based on an iteration of work by Tom Donahey/Brian Boggs. Its sturdy fixture made from primarily from recycled southern yellow pine. Under direct supervision, work with be performed with jigsaw/bandsaw; chop saw/handsaw; hand-drill/drill press. This hands-on class and appropriate for beginner or intermediate level students. Please note that this class is a "projects class," and that tool sign-offs are not available.
Safety Dress Code: Woodshop dress code enforced. Comfortable closed-toed shoes; no loose clothing; and hair and beard tied back).

Cost is $75 which includes materials.
