WW_P: Hand Tool Basics & "Sign-Off"

This class is HIGHLY recommended for anyone interested in using chisels, planes, saws, rasps, files, and other similar hand tools. You can expect to leave the class with an improved familiarity with these tools, their names, proper use, storage, and care. 

Hand tools are only as good as the care they are given. To be effective, they should be free of glue, not dented or chipped, sharpened, and otherwise intact. This class will show you basic care such as how to store, handle, and sharpen the tools so they stay effective and functional for all your projects. 

We will talk about different types of chisels and planes so that you don’t embarrass yourself in front of friends and family by using a block plane when you should have obviously used a scrub plane. You’ll learn the difference between rabbets and rebates. Best of all, you’ll apply what you learn by using the Tormek and sharpening stones.
