Learn the fundamentals of casting in this dynamic demonstration class so you can tackle your molding and casting projects. Techniques for using molds that will allow you to cast any object – including 3D printed, purchased, thermoformed items in a variety of materials like foams, rubbers and urethane plastic, soap, plaster, chocolate, crayon, resin, and metal.

Questions about your own projects are welcome.

Apply what you learn to enhance cosplay costumes, making accurate costume accessories, prop making, cases for your electronics, bead-making, recreate decorative objects, replicate parts, mass produce items for sale, and more.

Get introduced to our casting bench and casting supplies. We encourage our members to come back in after the class and work with these items or take more advanced classes to learn work with advanced techniques.

Prerequisites: None

Note: We highly recommend this class as an introduction for those new to molding and casting. It is also low cost for families or homeschoolers. However, if you want to learn to do projects, we also suggest you sign up for our hand-on, project style class, see our CS_P: Mold Making and Plastic Casting 101 class.

Instructor: Steve Fritzinger is the composites steward, woodworker, chef instructor, bread-maker, and cosplay expert.
