WW_P: Using the Tormek

This class is an introduction to the Tormek, a sharpening system based on low-speed, water-cooled grinding wheel. The system is easy to learn and can yields very sharp tools even in the hands of a novice. During this hands-on class, students will hollow-ground flat blades on the Tormek wheel, followed by power-stropping on the Tormek stropping wheel . We will run down sharpening various blades for different types of planes and chisels. Please feel free to bring your own chisels or plane blades to practice on.

Prerequisite: None
Safety Dress Code: Woodshop dress code enforced. Comfortable closed-toed shoes; natural fiber clothing (wool, cotton, leather); no loose clothing; and hair and beard tied back). Must wear a mask at all times and must bring your own safety glasses.
