Want to add a or modify a wall in your house? Thinking about building an addition? In this class we will build an 8' wall with framing for a door and a window. Learn the best practices and the tips and tricks to build a structural wall that you, and the inspector, can be proud of!.
Wear clothes you can get dirty. Closed-toe shoes are required. Dust mask recommended. Safety glasses are required at the Nova Labs shop. Some are available for use during class.
Tools and materials are provided but you are welcome and encouraged to bring your own tools.
NOTE: We may be working on ladders. You should feel comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds.

Your instructor, Robin Renner has 35 years experience as a carpenter, a contractor, and as a construction director for housing nonprofits. She has worked with hundreds of volunteers teaching and leading construction projects, everything from basic repairs to full whole house construction. She has taught over 40 training classes ranging from drywall skills and general construction, to electrical and plumbing repairs, to healthy housing and safety.
