LC_P06: Laser Cut Holiday Gift Boxes

Present your special holiday gift in a laser cut, engraved, and personalized gift box that you made yourself! Laser cutting projects make everything better and more personalized. This will make a great keepsake when engraved.

Attendees will start in a computer classroom setting, exploring techniques, tips, and tricks for creating different shapes and types of boxes. Techniques for adding your graphic to your design will also be covered. Students will then get instructor-led hands-on practice with the laser cutter on provided wood to design a container about the size of a box of crayons!

Recommend you bring your own computer, but the classroom will provide computers as well if needed. Students should bring a graphic they wish to engrave and are welcome to discuss it with the instructor prior to the class.

Minors under 16: Parents must also sign up and actively participate and supervise.

Prerequisite: none. *However, Laser 101 is recommended for the best experience.*

Instructor: Andrew Albosta has been coming to Nova Labs since late 2013 and it was all because of the laser cutter. A multimedia designer by day doing videography, graphics, and photography work, he moves from shop to shop at Nova Labs and might turn up anywhere.
