Damascus steel is arguably the most eye-catching embellishment that comes out of a blacksmith's shop. In this class, students will learn to turn steel bars into random-pattern Damascus steel for use in their own pet projects, from blades, to jewelry, or art objects.
Students will make use of the 16-ton hydraulic press to set the forge welds needed for Damascus steel, in addition to drawing out and shaping their steel billet to a specified shape and length.
