Have you ever wanted a set of dice that perfectly fit your personality or character, but just can’t find the right ones at the game store? Maybe you want a very specific D20 for your attack rolls? Or maybe you just really like shiny click-clack math rocks and want to level up your collection? Why not learn how to make your own dice?
This two-part, hands-on class will teach you the basics of making your very own set of sharp-edged dice! The skills covered in this class will consist of resin casting in a two-part mold, using a pressure pot to get crystal clear resin casts, sanding, polishing, and inking the numbers of your dice. If you wish to continue dice making, you will have the opportunity to ask questions about advanced techniques as well.
This class will take place on two separate class times a week apart. Participants will leave with their own fully finished handmade dice set after the second class! There will be dice molds to use in class, as well as all other necessary materials covered.
Prerequisite: While not required, to get most out of this class, we recommend you take the Mold Making and Plastics Casting 101 class, or have an understanding of using molds and epoxy resin casting.
Instructor: Danielle Summerlin is the owner and dice maker behind Fatemaker Dice, and she has been making dice for 2 years. New to Nova Labs, but not new to crafting and making, she enjoys resin casting, sewing, and is always looking to learn new skills. Questions about the class? Email: fatemakerdice@gmail.com
