LC_P: Intro to Leather Working on the Laser Cutter

Use laser technology to create elegantly personalized gear or gifts with leather. Whether it’s purses, hats, jackets, key chains or jewelry – laser technology offers you precision while avoiding the stretching and damage of other methods of leather processing. Creative artwork, logos, or delicately cut details enhance leather products and create added value. Each piece can be produced either individually or repeated with precision for gifts or your business needs.

In this class, you will learn the techniques by engrave your own project on the provided leather. 

Members: Come back and make more laser cut and engraved leather gifts and projects.

Non-members: You are welcome to take this class. You'll leave with a great personalized hat. Select a few ideas for design before you get here.

Attendees will start in a computer classroom setting, exploring techniques, tips, and tricks on how to get your picture ready for a clear engraving. They will then get instructor-led hands-on practice with the laser cutter on provided wood.

To Bring: Recommend you bring your own laptop, but you may use ours. Bring a photo of the object you wish to engrave and are welcome to discuss it with the instructor prior to the class.

Prerequisite: none. *However, Laser 101 is recommended for the best experience. Age 16 or over
