Do you ever want to renovate or build a wall and need to install drywall but didn’t have the skills? How about trying to repair or patch a hole in drywall? Learn all the ins and outs of working with drywall.
We will learn the basics of installing drywall and applying different kinds of joint compounds. Learn how to cut and install drywall sheets, apply joint tape, and how to finish seams, and do repairs. So come join us as we cut and install drywall sheets, get muddy with joint compound, and work on perfecting your drywall skills.
Prerequisite: none.
Safety: Wear clothes you can get dirty. Closed-toe shoes are required. Dust mask recommended. Safety glasses are required. Bring your own for best fit, but they are provided during class. NOTE: We may be working on ladders. You should feel comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds.
To Bring: Tools and materials are provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own tools.

Instructor: Robin Renner has 35 years experience as a carpenter, a contractor, and as a construction director for housing nonprofits. She has worked with hundreds of volunteers teaching and leading construction projects, everything from basic repairs to full whole house construction. She has taught over 40 training classes ranging from drywall skills and general construction, to electrical and plumbing repairs, to healthy housing and safety.
