TS_P: Etching Steel

In this class you will learn the basics of chemical and electric etching of metal. We will explore the chemistry of etching and how to use the tools at Nova Labs to personalize your own steel or copper items. Along the way we will “learn by doing” as we etch a design and your initials on a stainless steel pocket knife that you will take home at the end of class.

SAFETY:
·        Students must wear safety glasses.
·        Nitrile gloves will be provided.
·        Some of the chemicals can permanently stain clothes; while the risk is low, students should dress with this in mind!
