MW_S: CNC Plasma Table Sign-off

Get trained and signed off on the  ArcLight Dynamics ArcMax CNC Plasma Table. The class gives an introduction to tool safely and effective use. Materials and vision protection will be provided. This tool can cut through up to 3/4" steel in a single pass using the power of plasma: cutting metal with fire the temperature of the sun, what could be more fun?

Prerequisites: No prior experience with plasma cutting is needed however, some prior experience with some form of computer-controlled machinery (like our lasers) is helpful and recommended, although not required.

Safety/Dress code: Students must wear natural fiber clothing (cotton or wool) and are recommended to bring breathing protection, as none will be provided. The instructor recommends the 3M Rugged Comfort Quick Latch Half Facepiece Reusable Respirator 6501QL (about $28) with the 2297 respirator cartridges (about $13).
