In this hands-on class, you’ll discover the techniques and tricks to achieve clean, stretchy hems, secure seams, and decorative stitching that elevate your projects to a professional standard.
What You’ll Learn:
Introduction to the Juki MCS-1500: Understanding how to operate the machine, thread the machine, and make tension adjustments for optimal performance.
Practical Applications: Master hemming knit fabrics, attaching elastic, creating decorative topstitching, and finishing raw edges.
Project-Based Learning: Apply your skills to create polished hems on garments such as t-shirts, leggings, and dresses.
Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Learn to address common issues like skipped stitches and maintain the machine for longevity.

Prerequisites: This class is designed for individuals who are already comfortable with basic sewing and operating sewing machines. No prior experience with cover stitch machines is necessary. Prior experience with serger highly encouraged.
Materials Provided:
•Juki MCS-1500 machines for in-class use
•Fabric swatches for practice
•Thread in a variety of colors
What to Bring: Any garments or projects you’d like to practice on (optional)
By the end of this class, you’ll have the confidence to integrate the Juki MCS-1500 into your sewing workflow, producing garments with a professional, polished finish.
