Blacksmithing Hydraulic Press Sign-off
This class covers the basic operations of and safety considerations for the 16-ton hydraulic press. This is a critically useful tool in speeding up a variety of tasks, especially with thicker steels. Students will demonstrate safely moving hot steel around the shop, raising and lowering the press head with hand and foot, and changing dyes for appropriate tasks. After you complete this class, you can use the press when you attend the Blacksmith Practice Sessions. Please note: this is not the Blacksmith 101 safety signoff.
