CC_P01: CNC Project Class: Catch All Trays

Catch-all trays are a perfect project for honing your CNC skills. In this hands-on class, you'll learn how to design and carve your own custom trays using VCarve, work with multiple tools in a single project, and apply roughing and finishing strategies to achieve clean cuts and smooth surfaces efficiently. Whether round, rectangular, or freeform, these trays are a great way to build confidence and creativity on the CNC.

What You’ll Learn:

• Custom tray design in VCarve

• Using multiple tools in one project

• Roughing vs. finishing strategies for faster and smoother results

Safety Requirements:

• Closed-toed shoes

• No rings, watches, or bracelets

• Long hair must be tied back

Prerequisites:

• ShopSabre CNC sign-off
• Experience using a CNC router in the past two months (via Sign-Off, Open Office Hours, or personal projects)
• A VCarve account — If you don’t have one, please contact Steve Klosky to request access
• Need a refresher? Join a CNC Open Office Hours session before the class
