AC_P: Valentine’s Candle Making 101: Candle Pour and Laser Etch Design

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a cozy, creative experience that’s more than just a fun night out. This hands-on Candlemaking 101 class is designed for beginners who want to learn the fundamentals of small-batch candle making—whether for personal enjoyment, gifting, or future creative projects.

You’ll be guided step-by-step through the candle-making process, including wax selection, fragrance loading, wick choice, safe pouring techniques, and curing basics. Along the way, you’ll learn why each step matters—so you leave with the confidence and knowledge to recreate candles on your own at home.

Each participant will create a custom Valentine-themed candle while learning the core skills used by small-batch makers. No prior experience is needed, and all materials are provided.

Sean is a recent convert from a life as a project manager in commercial contracting to full-time maker and small business owner. As a Northern Virginia Native, he's always enjoyed working with his hands and finding connection in his community.  When he's not running his small business or volunteering at Nova Labs, he's spending time on his little farm out in Southern Maryland.
