IMPORTANT: This is a 2 session class over two days

In this two session class, participants will create a custom handmade sketchbook from start to finish. In the first session, students will design simple or abstract wooden elements and cut them using the scroll saw to create decorative cover designs. In the second session, students will learn and complete Coptic stitch bookbinding to assemble their finished sketchbook.

The focus of the class is safe tool use, guided construction, and learning the fundamentals of Coptic binding in the mixed media shop. No prior woodworking or bookbinding experience is required. All materials will be provided, and students will leave with a completed handmade sketchbook.

Note: tool sign offs are not required (and not granted by) this class
