Have you ever felt overwhelmed by fabric? Or just don't know where to begin? Come demystify the world of fabric selection and learn essential knowledge to set you up for success as you plan your next creation.

We'll explore common fabric types by content and weave--from cotton to polyester, silk to rayon, and woven to knit and talk about learning to identify differences in weight, drape, and stretch as we touch ALL THE THINGS. Come discover which textiles work best for different types of projects. We'll discuss where to source textiles, practical techniques such as preparing fabric, choosing needles, and working with difficult or specialty materials. Bring your questions!

Instructor: Danielle Priest

Danielle is an experienced educator in solo and classroom settings, an award-winning cosplayer, and former alterations specialist with tailoring knowledge. At Nova Labs, she primarily teaches classes focused on patterning, using sergers, and hemming and can otherwise usually be found working on a Star Wars costume.

Class must have 3 participants sign up to run. If this does not happen those who have paid will be issued a full refund.
