Wild Apricot (WA) Portal
Transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. Join us for an immersive journey into Sashiko (meaning "little stabs"), a traditional Japanese folk craft. Originally developed by farming families to strengthen and insulate garments, Sashiko has evolved into a stunning geometric art form celebrated by modern makers and eco-conscious enthusiasts alike.
In this workshop, you will learn the meditative "One-stitch Sashiko" that turns ivory thread and indigo cloth into intricate patterns. Whether you are an experienced sewist or a complete beginner, you will find peace in the repetitive motion and beauty in the functional results. Breathe new life into your favorite textiles and learn to repair and beautify your denim and home goods using this rhythmic, sustainable art.
