In this focused, introductory workshop, you will be guided through:

• Handing Cords with Ease: Learn the fundamental techniques for properly preparing and working with authentic washi paper Mizuhiki cords.
• Tying two Core Knots: Master the essential Awaji (Awa-ji) and Plum Blossom (Ume) knots, the building blocks for thousands of traditional designs.
• Creating Your First Project: Apply your new skills immediately to craft one stunning piece (e.g., bookmarks or elegant chopstick rests or napkin holders) to take home.
• The Power of Symbolism: Discover the traditional meanings behind your creations and how to choose the perfect message for any occasion.
