MW_S02: CNC Plasma Table Sign-off

Get trained and signed off to use the ArcLight Dynamics ArcMax CNC Plasma Table. This class introduces students to the safe and effective operation of the machine. Materials and eye protection will be provided.

The CNC plasma table can cut through steel up to 3/4 inch thick in a single pass using the power of plasma. Cutting metal with temperatures comparable to the surface of the sun—what could be more fun?

Prerequisites:
No previous plasma-cutting experience is required. Experience using computer-controlled equipment, such as our laser cutters, is helpful and recommended but not required.

Safety and Dress Code:
Students must wear clothing made from natural fibers, such as cotton or wool, that they do not mind getting wet or dirty.

Students are encouraged to bring respiratory protection, as none will be provided. The instructor recommends the 3M Rugged Comfort Quick Latch Half Facepiece Reusable Respirator 6501QL with 3M 2297 particulate filters.

Effective respiratory protection requires the respirator to fit and seal properly. No single model will fit everyone, and facial hair can interfere with the seal and reduce its effectiveness.
