Celebrate the turning of the year through linoleum block printing! In Japan, sending Nengajo (New Year's greeting cards) is a beloved holiday tradition passed down through generations. In this beginner-friendly relief printmaking workshop, you will carve and print your own custom cards featuring the 2027 Japanese Zodiac sign—the Year of the Sheep—along with festive seasonal motifs.
What You Will Do: ● Discover the history and tradition behind Japanese Nengajo card exchange. ● Transfer 2027 zodiac designs or festive patterns onto a linoleum block. ● Safely carve your block, apply block-printing ink, and hand-press your own collection of handmade greeting cards to send to friends and family.
Join us for a focused Sunday of slow-crafting and leave with a collection of handmade prints and the skills to make many more
